For oboe (or flute), Violin, Viola and cello
The three arias in these arrangements come from Handel's Operas L'Allegro, Radamisto, and Alessandro and his setting of John Milton's poem L'Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato.
I have sought to mantain all harmonic and contrapuntal material, which in a few spots exceeds what is available on four instruments. In the viola part, when an additional line is included, it is written in smaller notes and marked ossia. I have added slurs and bowings sparingly, leaving the rest to the discretion of the performers.
